Brief Objective of CGSSC:

Capital Goods & Strategic Skill Council

To create skill ecosystem for workshop and skills for the research and development functions in the Capital Goods Manufacturing sector, and Strategic/ Defence sector; NITI Aayog suggested its set- up under MSDE.

Year of start of operation: 2014 Sectors: Defence Manufacturing (2020), Capital Goods Manufacturing Ministry: MHI, MoPSW, MoD, MHA, MoES (under process) Governing Body members:
  • Promoters: Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI), Federation of Chamber of Commerce (FICCI)
  • Academic: IITs, IISc, BVOCs, DVOCs, ITIs
  • Associations: PPMA (Process Plant), PMMAI (Plastic), IMTMA (Machine Tools), TAGMA (Tool & Gauge) TMMA (Textiles), EEPC (Engineering), ITAMMA (Textile Machine accessories), ICTMA (Cutting Tools).
  • PSU & Defence: BDL, BEL, BHEL, BEML, Cochin Shipyard, GSL, GRSE, HSL, MazDock, Material Modernisation, MIDHANI.
  • Private Sector: AceMicromatic, BFW2NXT, Bharat Forge, CAT- Gainwell, Festo, Fanuc, GUSTI, L&T, MAKINO, Rolls-Royce, Siemens, Starrag, etc.
